On November 27, 2024, PECCI delegates embarked on an remarkable journey to Thailand to attend the 2024 Global Cooperative Climate Summit Sponsored by CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative, the leading insurance cooperative in the Philippines, the Summit took place at the Ambassador Hotel in Bangkok, spanning five days, from November 27 to December 1, 2024 This transformative experience blended learning about climate change, and fostering global collaboration to combat its catastrophic effects while immersing in Thai culture.

The Summit featured a series of enlightening presentations from keynote speakers representing various countries. These talks highlighted the urgent need to address climate change and explored actionable strategies for mitigation.

One particularly impactful moment came from Mr. Ludwig O. Federigan, whose powerful statement resonated deeply with attendees:

"Climate change, driven by us humans, is happening, and it is happening very quickly."

This urgent call to action inspired delegates to seriously think about their roles in combating climate change, both individually and collectively.

The cultural night offered a chance to engage with representatives from other cooperatives. Delegates were treated to a display of Thai cultural dances, showcasing the country's rich heritage. The evening's highlight was the awarding of standout cooperatives and individuals who shone during the event.

PECCI was given an award for its prompt on-boarding in Weather Protect Insurance, a product which safeguards cooperatives from the adverse effects of climate change such as intense rainfall and severe flooding.

On individual awards, PECCI delegates didn't disappoint as they were given recognition, as follows:

• Lord and Lady of the Night: Mr. Cesar Hernandez and Ms. Anne Adriano

• King of the Night: Mr. Cloyd Suayan

• Best Dressed Female: Ms. Michelle Mintu

• Best Cultural Award: Mr. Billy Villar

The Summit concluded with a historic contract signing between PECCI, represented by Chairperson Ethel Soriano, and CLIMBS, led by its President & CEO Mr. Noel Raboy. This agreement will provide free life insurance coverage for PECCI's 12,000+ members, a forward-thinking initiative that underscores PECCI's commitment to enhancing member benefits and financial security.

For PECCI's members, this first international trip marked a milestone in the cooperative's history. Chairperson Ethel Soriano's vision of a progressive, globally engaged cooperative came to life, leaving delegates inspired and empowered

Returning to the Philippines, the PECCI delegation carried home not only unforgettable memories but also a renewed commitment to addressing climate change and fostering sustainability. With every step forward, PECCI proves its dedication to its members and its role as a leader in cooperative innovation.

Keep patronizing PECCI's products and services. Who knows? You might be the next Ka-PECCI member to be randomly chosen for the next conference-sponsored travel abroad. The journey continues!

COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY AND PROGRESS

In terms of Revenue, kumita tayo ng P390 milyon ngayong 2024. Ito po ay P30 milyon more compared to last year.

Ang Administration and Financing Costs ay parehong mas mababa ng 7%, compared last year mainly due Management's cost-cutting initiatives.

...

LOAN RELEASES, COLLECTION & NON-PATRONIZING MEMBERS

We've already reached P1 billion mark in terms of "loan releases" sa 1H pa lamang ng 2024.

COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY AND PROGRESS

In terms of Revenue, kumita tayo ng P112 milyon ngayong 2024. Ito po ay P2 milyon more compared to last year.

Ang Administration and Financing Costs ay mas mababa ng 2% each, compared last year, mainly due Management's on-going cost-cutting initiatives.

Sa bottom line, mas mataas nang P6 milyon o 12% ang ating Undivided Net Surplus compared sa parehong period, last year.

...

REVENUE (KITA)

IT cost) at 2% (Officers' meetings and allowances).

...

LOAN RELEASES, COLLECTION & NON-PATRONIZING MEMBERS

We can already say na ang "Loan releases" have already recovered kung ikukumpara sa results nuong Covid-Years 2020-2021. Patuloy nating pagsisikapan na makapag-release ng mas maraming loans in the coming periods.

Reflective sa 1Q2023 collection ang adverse effects ng 2023 WOP (opportunity losses due to early payment of loans), but we were able to turn this around at year-end, as we posted the highest net surplus in history na P247 milyon.
