Established in December 5, 1958 out of necessity to augment the employee’s income and keep them
away from loan sharks. It was founded by 15 PLDT Employees and named the cooperative as “Free Telephone Workers
Cooperative Credit Union (FTWCU)”. It was built from membership of 30 Employees with ₱ 500.00 Fixed Deposit and a
₱ 5,000.00 Loan from PLDT’s rank and file union.
The Fifteen (15) Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (now PLDT Inc.), were

Our Cooperative was renamed as PLDT Employees Credit Cooperative, Inc. (PECCI)
1986
PECCI purchased a major portion of the 4th Floor, Universal-Re Building at Paseo
de Roxas corner Perea Streets serve as its general office up to the present. This houses the operations
of PECCI to better serve the needs of its members.

By late 1990's, PLDT opened its membership to include regular employees of Subsidiaries
and Affiliates.
Last November 8, 2022, CDA issued the approved RA 2020 Amendments to the PECCI Articles of Cooperation and
By-Laws, thus, PLDT Employees Credit Cooperative is now PECCI Multipurpose Cooperative.
